Sometimes a drive is so bad you just want to pay the $2k and call it a day.

But for those of us who need a cheaper and easier way, here are some things you may want to try first.  Please read entire post before starting!

Step one wrap the drive so tight that you could drop it in a lake and it would not take on water and then place the drive into a refrigerator's  freezer

Step two wait 2 days and do not move the air and water tight drive.

Step three buy a Remote control car and turn it to the side horizontally  and elevate the wheel so that when you press acceleration it shows clockwise.

Step four mount the failed drive on the remote control car's wheel using dental floss, tape and whatever could be used  so that it is extremely secure and push the acceleration.

Step five accelerate for 5 minutes and wait 2 days and then accelerate for 15 minutes.

Step six buy a huge 1100 watt power supply and plug it to a good working computer and use it as your primary power source.

Step seven cross fingers

Step eight plug hard drive to the 1100 watt computer and turn on.

Step nine boot to ubuntu and open terminal.

Step ten type testdisk

Step eleven ....   look up testdisk and how to image a drive

Step twelve now download "OSFMount" to mount the imaged drive that has been imaged and congratulations you are now king / savior to your office / household.
